Some List Of Movies That You Must Watch, Number 8 Is A Must Try

Paramount+, the streaming service that is to ViacomCBS what HBO Max is to WarnerMedia, is finally here. The company (and the studio that streamer takes its name from) is stuffing its library online. CBS All Access, which it is replacing, is dead. Yes, it’s another streamer and yes, it’s another streamer with a at the end of its name.

But hear us out: Paramount might be the new kid on the block, but it’s a heck of a deal. Either $9.99 a month for the ad-free tier or $4.99 for ads gets you “2,500 movie titles,” and that’s not even mentioning the slew of TV shows that’re coming along for the ride.

On March 4, 2021, CBS All Access rebranded with the name Paramount+, reflecting the history of the legendary film and TV company with that nifty little mathematical sign that all the streaming companies seem to love these days.

Here are  such options for you on Paramount+, updated for 2022.

1. The Ring - Paramount Streaming Movie List

If you watch the cursed videotape, you die within the week. Though The Ring comes from an outdated analog era, its thrills and chills still persist today. The first major Hollywood feature to adapt “J-horror” from Japan for an English-speaking audience set the bar high with emotional stakes that feel grounded but horror that feels other-worldly.

2. 17 Blocks - Paramount Streaming Movie List

One of the best documentaries of the last couple years is also one of the least seen, so it’s great that a service like Paramount+ can bring it to a wider audience. Premiering at Tribeca in 2019, this is the story of the Sanford family, a clan in northern D.C. who filmed themselves over 20 years. The title comes from the family’s proximity to the White House, even though their lives couldn’t be more different from the people who live there.

3. Jackass Forever - Paramount Streaming Movie List

On paper, Jackass Forever operates in perfect sync with every other long-gap nostalgia sequel/revival being used to prop up various streaming services or the tenuous theatrical experience. It arrives 11 years and change after a second sequel to a movie based on (and very similar to) a TV series, brings back as much of its core cast as possible for more of the same and, in some cases, even circles back to revisit certain sequences from previous installments. Just like past versions, Jackass Forever opens with a more staged action sequence that seems designed to blow remaining budget money on a larger-scale expression of the project’s grody whimsy. It’s Jackass, again, again.

4. ‘Fences’ (2016) - Paramount Streaming Movie List

It’s common to hear people throw around the term “filmed theater” as derogatory, implying a kind of hierarchy between the mediums that establishes screen as inherently better than stage. That kind of quibble falls by the wayside watching Denzel Washington tackle August Wilson’s play Fences for the cinema. He knows how to key into the earth-shattering power of the performances delivered by himself and Viola Davis to transcend the limits of a talky, location-limited script. It never feels as if we’re just watching a camera record a play.

5. Beverly Hills Cop - Paramount Streaming Movie List

It’s hard to explain to people too young to experience it how big a star Eddie Murphy was in 1984 when his Axel Foley ruled the world. Murphy’s wit and charm were put to perfect use in Beverly Hills Cop that produced two inferior sequels, and both happen to also be on Paramount Plus.

6. The Godfather Part II - Paramount Streaming Movie List

With the success of The Godfather, Francis Ford Coppola’s second chapter—released just two years later—set a new precedent for sequels by proving just as triumphant. Anchored by prevailing performances from Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, the follow-up carries on the mafia saga and explores the parallels between father and son. It’s another tour de force with epic proportions.

7. Sonic the Hedgehog - Paramount Streaming Movie List

A long time in the making, speedy blue gaming icon Sonic the Hedgehog finally received his transformation to the big screen in 2020. Paramount picked up the movie from Sony in 2017 after they’d held it in development since the 90s and it wasn’t without its split opinion when the movie was first revealed.

But, it had a record breaking box office opening weekend for a video game movie bringing in over $319.7 million worldwide and unsurprisingly leading to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in 2022.

8. Interstellar - Paramount Streaming Movie List

Interstellar images a dystopian humanity where Earth is no longer habitable. In true sci-fi fashion, a group of research astronauts are forced into space to travel across the galaxy in a bid to find a new home for human beings before it’s too late. Director Christopher Nolan portrays emotion as he does best in a dark, bellowing abyss of isolation, fear, and failure.

9. Morning Glory - Paramount Streaming Movie List

Fans of Apple TV+’s The Morning Show who want the breezy behind-the-scenes drama of broadcast news with a little bit lighter touch ought to check in for some Morning Glory. Rachel McAdams, the great rom-com star who just missed her window to shine in the genre’s heyday, is radiant as a producer hired to turn around a flailing morning program. She earns her keep having to wrangle two veteran anchors played by Diane Keaton and Harrison Ford who mix like oil and water.

10. The Conversation -Paramount Streaming Movie List

The really incredible fact about this film is that Coppola made it as a side project between Godfather movies. Starring Gene Hackman, The Conversation is the story of a surveillance technician coming face to face with the implications of his job, and the paranoia of being watched at every moment. It was nominated for Best Picture in 1974, an award that went to The Godfather, Part II. It’s one of the rare times in film history when a director has lost to himself
